These half day (PSC) courses are aimed at primary and special teachers and subject leaders to give essential skills for teaching the primary computing curriculum. There are three sessions, save £40 by buying all three, each can be booked separately or you can send different members of staff to each. They focus on practical teaching skills in the classroom covering the computer science curriculum objectives in each area.
1) Robots in the primary curriculum – Tues 26th September 2017 1.30 – 4.00 pm. Aimed at Early Years and KS1 teachers covering the curriculum objectives, considering progression and assessment through the use of robots such as the Blue bot and Probot. Early years resources and the latest robots will be used. Aimed at teachers in YR-3.
2) Scratch – Tues 17th October 2017 1.30 – 4.00 pm, a practical workshop teaching how to get the best use of scratch, making sure that there is progression across the year groups and consider assessment criteria. The latest additions seen at Bett 17 will be shown. Aimed at teachers in Years 2-6.
3) Kodu – Tues 28th November 2017 1.30 – 4.00 pm, a practical workshop teaching how to get the best of Kodu for KS2 children. Looking at progression and assessment. Aimed at teachers in Years 3-6
Please bring along a wifi enabled, fully charged internet device that is able to connect to an external network. Light refreshments from 1 pm, session starts at 1.30pm.
Car Parking (£3) will be refunded to the teacher on production of receipt or photo of ticket at the commencement of the course.
